Sound Sculptures and Installation | Zimoun

I spotted this gem this morning via Dept. of Non/Architecture. Sound Sculpture artist Zimoun has presented us with a breathtaking display of installation art. I am intrigued not only by the sound produced by the installation, but also the stunning spaces and photographs produced by his body of work. The level of craft and pain staking effort to produce these visuals is impressive. A successful effort that crosses boundaries of the interplay between space and sound. “Zimoun’s sound sculptures and installations are graceful, mechanized works of playful poetry, their structural simplicity opens like an industrial bloom to reveal a complex and intricate series of relationships, an ongoing interplay between the artificial and the organic.” – From his video description. More can be found at zimoun.ch. Slideshow and video at www.zeitgeistudios.com.

360 Immersive Video with Steye & The Ottowanians

If you haven’t already- click and drag in the movie below to scroll around the video. Immersive 360 panoramic photos are nothing new now that we are all familiar with Google Street-View. Or if your into any first person video games this is no shocker. But to see that same first person control in immersive video is a bit surreal. I came across the video below by Steye & The Ottowanians via Dept of Non/Architecture and was blown away with the creative use this technology has. The ability for live action video to be controllable from a first person camera, rotatable in 360 degrees, opens amazing possibilities.
